Peter Ashworth
Background
Peter is OnlineRefundee's Senior Claims Specialist. He joined the firm after 8 years at a UK high-street bank's fraud team, where he led their Section 75 chargeback and Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud units.
During his time at the bank, Peter authored the internal scoring framework used to assess when to reimburse APP fraud victims — a framework that later fed into the industry-wide Contingent Reimbursement Model (CRM). His unique insider perspective on how banks assess fraud claims underpins the strategy he now uses to overturn wrongful refusals.
Peter has a 62% overturn rate at the Financial Ombudsman Service on cases he escalates — significantly above the industry average of ~35%. He specialises in bank impersonation, safe-account and remote-access scams.
I spent 8 years training bank fraud teams to say no. Now I spend my days making them say yes. Every refusal letter follows a template — and every template has a weak point. My job is to find it.

Bank refused your claim?
Peter has an overturn rate at the Financial Ombudsman Service more than double the industry average. If your bank has refused to reimburse you, he'll assess whether the refusal is defensible — and if not, escalate it.
